Aquarium of the Pacific

The Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in the nation. It displays about 12,000 animals and features more than 100 exhibits that represent the diversity of the Pacific Ocean. Beyond its world-class animal exhibits, the Aquarium offers educational programs for people of all ages from online programs for students to lectures by leading scientists. Through these programs and a variety of multimedia experiences, the Aquarium provides opportunities to delve deeper into ocean science and learn more about our planet. In 2019 the Aquarium opened Pacific Visions, a 29,000-square foot, two-story expansion that includes an art gallery, orientation gallery, culmination gallery, and the Honda Pacific Visions Theater. This theater has over 300 seats and features an immersive 130-foot-wide by 32-foot-tall screen that curves in a 180-degree arc. The Aquarium of the Pacific has redefined the modern aquarium. It is a community gathering place where diverse cultures and the arts are celebrated and a place where important topics facing our planet and our ocean are explored in the search for sustainable solutions.
